Figma has published a guide to Weave, its new tool that links AI image and video generation with editing steps on one canvas. Each step is a "node" (a single block, like "remove background" or "change colours"). You join nodes into a workflow and can branch off to test different prompts without losing your original. You can also run one prompt through several AI models side by side and compare the results.

In an *Edge* magazine cover feature, Rockstar revealed it made about 600,000 animations for GTA 6's NPCs (non-player characters, the background people in a game). GTA V had about 55,000 and Red Dead Redemption 2 had about 300,000. Rockstar North co-head Aaron Garbut says the team "art-directed each individual one of them." That means every single movement was reviewed for style and feel, not just generated in bulk.

Mother Design, a London studio in the Mother Family, rebranded the psychic platform Purple Garden. Before designing anything, the team held a séance, a chakra reading and an automatic-drawing workshop (drawing without planning, letting your hand move freely). They then used the shapes and feelings from those sessions as raw material. The result includes six warm purples, a crystal-shaped icon glyph and "living type" inspired by cymatics (the patterns sound waves make). Creative Director Joanna Tulej: "we needed to allow some of that spontaneity into the way we designed it too."

Figma's code layers are in open beta (released for public testing). They let you build and edit working code right on the design canvas. Figma's release notes say creating and editing code layers is free on paid plans until 4 November 2026, which is two days away. Figma's AI agent is also now generally available and built into the canvas.

Creative Boom's first roundup of 2026 Christmas ads includes Sainsbury's BFG (by New Commercial Arts), Walmart's Muppets *Christmas Carol*, and Argos with Richard Ayoade as a Scrooge figure. It also features Prada's hand-drawn animated creatures by John Pomeroy. The common thread is the past: reunions, childhood memories and Dickens retellings. Two brands borrowed directly from *A Christmas Carol*.
